Locate the Leak
Spout, base, supply line, shutoff, or drain. Where the water actually appears rarely matches where people assume it starts.

Get in Touch
Call, text, or message us. If it is running into a cabinet, close the shutoff underneath first if it will turn.

Diagnose the Fixture
Cartridge, seat, o-ring, or aerator. On hard water a great many faucet complaints are mineral rather than mechanical.

Seized angle stops are what turn a small leak into a flood, and they are cheap to replace while we are already under there.

Rebuild the fixture or fit a new one, with new supply lines either way rather than reusing tired braided hose.

Warning Signs
Signs a Fixture Needs Work
A drip that will not stop. Usually a worn cartridge or seat. It is a small part, and a drip you can hear at night adds up to real water over a year.
Weak flow from one tap. If the pressure is fine everywhere else, the aerator on that fixture is packed with mineral. It is often a five minute fix.
Damp or dark cabinet floor. Something under there has been leaking for a while. Catching it before the particle board swells is the difference in cost.
A shutoff that will not turn. Angle stops seize with age. You find out at the worst possible moment, which is why they are worth replacing on sight.
Knocking when a tap closes. Water hammer stresses joints throughout the house. It usually points at pressure or a missing arrestor rather than the fixture.

Faucet & Sink Questions, Answered
Why does only one faucet have low pressure?
The aerator, nine times out of ten. It is the small screen at the tip of the spout, and our hard water fills it with mineral deposits over time. If every fixture in the house is weak, that is a different problem and points at the pressure regulator or the supply line.
Is a dripping faucet worth calling about?
Yes, and it is usually a small job. A drip is a worn cartridge or seat, both inexpensive parts. Left alone it wastes a surprising amount of water and the constant wet eventually marks the sink or the counter.
There is water under my kitchen sink. Where is it coming from?
Look at three things: the braided supply lines, the shutoff valves they connect to, and the drain trap. Supply-side leaks are under pressure and get worse quickly. Drain-side leaks only appear while water is running, which is why they go unnoticed for so long.
Should I repair my faucet or buy a new one?
Depends on the fixture. A decent brand faucet is worth rebuilding, and parts are usually available for years. A builder-grade unit that has already had a cartridge or two is normally cheaper to replace than to keep repairing.
Can you install a faucet I bought myself?
Yes, we do that regularly. We will tell you honestly if what you bought does not suit the sink or the existing supply configuration before we start rather than after.
Why do my pipes bang when I turn a tap off?
Water hammer, caused by moving water stopping suddenly. It can be excessive supply pressure, a missing or waterlogged arrestor, or loose pipe in a wall. It is worth fixing because the shock stresses joints across the whole system.
