Pilot Point is a short run north from our shop, and it is one of the more varied places we work. There are the historic homes around the square, there are ranch properties with a main house and a couple of outbuildings that all need conditioning, and there is newer construction filling in around the edges.
HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has covered this part of Denton County since Gary Hays started the company in 2015. Out on acreage the practical stuff matters: knowing that a lot of properties run on propane and septic, that the far barn apartment needs its own solution rather than a duct run, and that if we forget a part the drive back is not five minutes.

After hours means after hours. Regular hours are 8am to 5pm, and a Pilot Point house with no heat in a freeze is not a next morning problem.

Yes. A large share of our Pilot Point work is on acreage outside town. If you are far enough out that you are not sure, call and we will confirm before you make plans around it.
Can you heat and cool a barn apartment or shop building?
That is one of the most common jobs we do out here, and the answer is usually a ductless mini split. No duct required, it heats and cools, and you can run it only when the space is in use instead of conditioning it all year.
Our place runs on propane. Do you work on that equipment?
Yes. Propane furnaces are normal on rural Denton County properties. The gas pressures and orifices differ from natural gas and we set them up accordingly.
The house near the square is over a hundred years old. Can it even be done right?
It can, but the honest answer is that the duct usually needs as much attention as the equipment. Historic homes were retrofitted for central air long after they were built, often through whatever chase was available. We measure airflow before recommending anything so you are not paying for capacity the duct cannot deliver.
Do you handle plumbing too?
Water heaters, drain cleaning, and pipe repair on the house side, yes. Wells and septic systems themselves are outside what we do, and we will say so up front rather than charge you to discover it.

What should I check before I call?
