Signs You Have A Pipe Problem
A water bill that jumped. The most reliable early warning of a hidden leak. If usage climbed and nothing about your household changed, water is going somewhere.
Stains, damp, or a musty smell. A ceiling mark, a soft patch of drywall, or a closet that smells of damp all mean water has been getting out for a while.
A warm spot on the floor. Classic slab leak. It is the hot water line under the concrete, and it needs locating rather than jackhammering on a hunch.
Water pressure that dropped. A loss of pressure across the whole house can mean a leak, a failing pressure regulator, or corrosion narrowing older pipe.
Discoloured water. Rusty or brown water from the cold side usually points at corroding galvanised pipe, which is on borrowed time once it starts.

How do I know if I have a hidden leak?
Check your meter. Turn off every fixture in the house, then look at the meter dial. If it is still moving, water is going somewhere it should not. A bill that climbed with no change in usage is the other common tell.
What is a slab leak and how serious is it?
A leak in a pipe running under the concrete foundation. The usual signs are a warm spot on the floor, the sound of running water with everything off, or an unexplained bill increase. They need attention because water under a slab affects the foundation, and locating it precisely is what keeps the repair from becoming demolition.
My pipe burst in a freeze. What do I do first?
Shut off the water at the main, then call. If it is spraying near anything electrical, cut power to that area too. Knowing where your main shutoff is before winter is genuinely worth five minutes of your time.
Should I repair the pipe or repipe the house?
One failed joint or a single damaged run is a repair. Galvanised pipe that is corroding through in several places is not, and repairing it section by section becomes an expensive way to delay the inevitable. We will tell you which situation you are in.
Do you work on well systems?
We handle the house side: supply lines, fittings, and interior pipework. Well pumps and septic systems themselves are outside what we do, and we will say so up front rather than charge you to find out.
