Collinsville is a straight run north from our shop in Krugerville, and it is exactly the kind of place a lot of companies quietly decline. Long driveways, houses spread out on acreage, propane instead of natural gas on plenty of properties, and equipment that has to work harder because there is nothing between the house and the wind.
We do not treat that as a hardship call. HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has been running this stretch of Grayson County since Gary Hays started the company in 2015. On a rural property we plan a little differently: we bring more on the truck, because driving back to town for one part turns a two hour job into an all day job for both of us.

The number before the wrench. You hear what is wrong and what it costs before we start, which matters more when you are twenty minutes from anywhere and cannot easily get a second opinion.
Emergency work at night. Regular hours run 8am to 5pm, but a rural house with no heat in a hard freeze is a real problem, and we treat it like one.
Every major brand, and older ones too. Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Amana, American Standard, and Daikin, plus plenty of equipment old enough that parts take a phone call.

We really do. It is a straight shot up US 377 from our shop in Krugerville and it is part of our normal coverage, not a favor. If you are further out on a county road, call and we will confirm before you wait on us.
My house runs on propane. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Propane fired furnaces are common on acreage out here and we service and replace them the same as natural gas equipment. The setup differs, the gas pressure differs, and we set them up accordingly.
Some rooms at the far end of the house never get warm. Why?
Long duct runs. On a spread out rural floor plan the air has a long way to travel and any leak, crush, or undersized branch on the way costs you at the last register. That is an airflow problem, not a thermostat problem, and we measure it rather than guess.
Do you handle plumbing on a septic and well property?
We handle the house side: water heaters, drains, and pipe repair. We are not a well or septic contractor, so if the problem turns out to be the septic system itself we will tell you plainly rather than charge you to find out.
Will you work on an older unit, or only new equipment?
We work on old equipment regularly. Sometimes the honest answer is that parts have gotten scarce and replacement is the better spend, but that is a conversation, not a default.
Do you offer financing for a replacement?

What can I check myself first?
