A Farm Town Meeting a Wave of New Homes

Just a Short Drive Away

Serving Gunter for 10+ Years

Gunter is a small Grayson County town north of Celina, with an old downtown, farm properties around it, and new subdivisions moving in as growth pushes north from Collin County. That leaves two very different kinds of homes in the same zip code: older farmhouses that have been updated piece by piece, and new houses still on their first system.

The farmhouses need someone patient with odd layouts, older wiring, and ducts that were added long after the house was built. The new homes mostly need the setup checked and the system maintained so it lasts. We handle both. Our shop is in Krugerville, about thirty minutes southwest. HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since 2015.

Why Gunter Calls Us

Old Houses and New Ones Too

Licensed shop, veteran at the wheel. Gary Hays brings his training as a Marine Corps aviation electrician to older wiring and new controls alike. License TACLA00065401C.

Plain talk on old houses. Older homes can surprise anyone. If we find something unexpected, we stop, show you, and explain your options before going further.

North and east to you. We work 8am to 5pm and take emergencies around the clock. Gunter is about thirty minutes from our Krugerville shop.

No brand we will not touch. We work on Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Amana, American Standard, and Daikin, old and new.

Word travels in a small town. Gunter folks talk, and that is how most of our customers there found us. See the reviews page.

Frequently Asked

Questions

What Gunter homeowners ask us about farmhouses, new builds, and service up north.

Still not sure, call our team (940) 222-9313
Do you really come up to Gunter?

We do. It is about thirty minutes from our shop, and we pair Gunter calls with work in Celina and Weston.

Our farmhouse has ducts that were added years after it was built. Is that a problem?

It can be. Ducts added later are often run where they fit rather than where they work best. We check airflow room by room and fix the worst runs first.

Our new build already has a warm bedroom. Is that normal?

It is common, but it is not something you have to live with. Dampers, duct connections, and register sizes are often off in new construction, and they are usually simple to correct.

Is it worth adding central air to an older home with window units?

Often yes, but it depends on the attic space and the layout. Ductless mini splits are another good option for older homes, and we can price both.

Do you work on homes on septic?

Yes. We handle the plumbing inside the house, including drains, water heaters, and fixtures, and can tell you when a backup points to the septic system instead.

Do you offer financing to customers in Gunter?

Yes, the same as everywhere we work. Apply online with our financing partner for a quick decision. See the financing page.

My heat pump is covered in ice. Is that a problem?

A light frost in cold weather is normal, and the unit should defrost itself. If it is encased in ice or stays iced for hours, turn it to emergency heat and call (940) 222-9313.
