Forty Year Old Homes With Modern Expectations
Located Just North of You
Serving The Colony for 10+ Years
Much of The Colony was built in the 1970s and 1980s, when whole neighborhoods went up fast on the east shore of Lewisville Lake. Those houses have been through several systems by now, but many still have their original ductwork, original drain lines under the slab, and electrical that was never planned for today's equipment. Newer areas near the toll road and the lake came much later.
Older homes here reward a careful diagnosis. A new system on tired ducts underperforms, and an old cast iron drain under the slab can cause trouble that looks like a simple clog. We come down from Krugerville, about twenty five minutes north. HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since 2015.

I had the best experience with HMS. Their techs were respectful, professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I will only work with HMS moving forward.
Gary at HMS was amazing and very professional. He saved the day after my wife called me while I was on the road with the bad news that our AC went out. Being away, I was worried about someone trying to take advantage of my wife, husbands can relate…
Nate was great. Inspected our 1 year old HVAC system, cleaned the external unit. They have a very affordable maintenance plan that include twice annual checks and cleaning. Thanks, HMS!
HMS was recommend by a neighbor. This is the second time we've used them and both times we have been incredibly happy. They are friendly, professional, and honest with the work and prices.
There is no comparison for the care and personal attention that Gary and HMS are willing to provide. We had a cooling emergency and they were able to take care of it in less than 24 hrs! More than fair pricing as…

Frequently Asked
Questions
What homeowners in The Colony ask us about older ductwork, closet furnaces, and slab plumbing.
Still not sure, call our team (940) 222-9313Do you work in The Colony?
Yes. We drive down from Krugerville, about twenty five minutes, and handle heating, cooling, and plumbing calls throughout the city.
Our furnace is in a hall closet. Can it be replaced with a modern unit?
Yes. Closet installs in older homes have tight clearances, so the new equipment has to be chosen to fit and vented correctly. We measure carefully before quoting.
Should we keep gas heat or switch to a heat pump?
Both work in North Texas. A heat pump can lower costs in many homes, while gas heat stays strong on the coldest nights. We will run through the costs for your house before you pick one.
Our drains back up every few months. Why?
In older homes, cast iron drain lines under the slab can corrode and catch debris. Repeated backups often point to the line itself, and we can help find where the problem is.
Is the original ductwork worth keeping?
Sometimes. If the ducts are sealed, sized correctly, and in good shape, they can stay. If they are leaky or falling apart, replacing them with the system pays off in comfort and efficiency.
Do you offer financing for new equipment?
Yes. Apply online with our financing partner and get a fast reply, and we schedule as soon as you are approved. The financing page has the details.
The breaker for my AC keeps tripping. What should I do?
Do not keep resetting it. A repeating trip can mean a failing capacitor, a shorted motor, or a wiring problem. Leave the system off and call (940) 222-9313.
