Older Custom Homes Under a Canopy of Oaks

Just a Short Drive Away

Serving Double Oak for 10+ Years

Double Oak is a small, wooded town between Flower Mound and Highland Village where lots run about an acre and most homes were custom built from the 1970s through the 1990s. There is very little commercial land, and the town has worked to keep its rural feel, so the houses sit back from the road under mature trees.

Many of those homes still carry systems that were oversized when they went in, a common practice at the time, along with attics that could use better insulation and ventilation. Getting the size right on a replacement makes a bigger difference here than most people expect. We come from Krugerville, about thirty minutes northeast. HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since 2015.

Frequently Asked

Questions

What Double Oak homeowners ask us about older custom homes, sizing, and wooded lots.

Still not sure, call our team (940) 222-9313
How long does it take you to reach Double Oak?

About thirty minutes from our shop in Krugerville. We schedule there along with Highland Village and Copper Canyon, so getting on the calendar is rarely a problem.

Our AC cools fast but the house feels clammy. Why?

That is a classic sign of an oversized system. It cools the air quickly and shuts off before it removes enough moisture. A right sized replacement or adjusted fan settings can fix it.

Should we replace the system with the same size?

Not without checking. Many older homes have had new windows, insulation, or additions since the original install. We calculate what the house needs now.

Can better attic insulation reduce our cooling bills?

Often it can, especially in older homes with thin or settled insulation. We will point out what we see in the attic, even though insulation itself is not our trade.

Can you extend a gas line to a new appliance?

Yes. We run and test gas lines for ranges, dryers, outdoor kitchens, and generators, and make sure the line is sized for everything on it.

Can we finance a replacement?

Yes. Our financing partner offers an online application with a quick reply, and we schedule the job once you are approved. Visit the financing page for details.

My outdoor unit is humming but the fan is not spinning. What now?

Turn the system off at the thermostat. A humming unit with a still fan often means a failed capacitor or motor, and running it that way can damage the compressor. Call (940) 222-9313.
