First Generation Systems on Their Last Summers
We're Your Neighbor
Serving Savannah for 10+ Years
Savannah is a planned community along US 380 in unincorporated Denton County, and its first streets went up in the mid 2000s. That timing matters. The oldest homes were built just before the switch away from R-22 refrigerant, so some of the original condensers out here still run on a refrigerant that is no longer made and costs a lot to recharge.
Newer sections came later with R-410A equipment, and those systems are now old enough to need real attention too. We help Savannah homeowners sort out which camp they are in and what that means for repair or replacement. Our shop is in Krugerville, a short drive west on 380. HMS Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since 2015.

David with HMS was quick to respond to my water heater. He was very friendly and provided a reasonable price for new equipment and installation. I've used HMS in the past for my AC needs and will definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What Savannah homeowners ask us about older refrigerant, aging furnaces, and water heaters.
Still not sure, call our team (940) 222-9313How do I know if my AC uses R-22?
Look at the label on the side of the outdoor unit, where the refrigerant type is listed. If it says R-22 or HCFC-22, it is the older type. Many of the first homes in Savannah were built with those systems. We can check it for you on any visit.
Can you still recharge an R-22 system?
We can, but R-22 is no longer produced, so it is expensive and the price keeps going up. If the system is leaking, we usually recommend finding the leak or weighing a replacement rather than adding refrigerant every summer.
Our furnace is close to twenty years old. Is it safe?
Age alone does not make a furnace unsafe, but older heat exchangers can crack and burners can drift out of adjustment. A maintenance visit with a combustion check will tell you where it stands.
How long do water heaters last around here?
A tank water heater usually lasts ten to twelve years, less with hard water. If yours is original to a Savannah home built in the 2000s, it is living on borrowed time, and replacing it on your schedule beats replacing it after a leak.
Do you service both the older and newer sections of Savannah?
Yes, every part of the community. The equipment differs from one section to the next, and we carry what we need for both.
Can I spread the cost of a new system over time?
You can. Our financing partner handles the application online and replies quickly, then we book the install. Start on our financing page.
What should I do if the AC is running but the house is warm?
Check the filter and make sure the outdoor unit is running and its fan is spinning. If the outdoor unit is silent or the indoor lines are icing up, turn the system off and call (940) 222-9313 so the compressor is not damaged.
